Application Support Analyst Job Description Are you an Application Support Analyst with a strong track record in problem solving and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment? Would you like to be part of a dedicated support team working with one of our significant customers? This is a permanent position based at our offices in either Leeds or Glasgow. THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY The Application Support Analyst will be responsible for providing 3rd line support for one of our major customers and work as part of an application support team to maintain service levels and knowledge share with colleagues. You will help to provide both office hours and out of office hours support. You will liaise with our customer and help resolve application issues, analyse problems and identify resolutions and design, develop, test and implement application changes. In addition, you will identify continual service improvement initiatives and maintain detailed service support documentation. PROFILE Due to an increased workload we are looking for someone with a strong analytical background in application support who is able to methodically work through issues to a successful resolution within the SLA timescales agreed with the customer. You must be comfortable speaking to customers and have very good communication skills. Ideally, you will: - Have an understanding of ITIL processes and their importance in a support environment with specific consideration to incident, problem, change and release management - Be experienced in working in an application support team providing 3rd line support to external customers - Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents and service requests and ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer - Possess excellent customer communication skills - Possess excellent technical documentation skills - Have experience and skills in updating technical documentation such as support guides & use cases - Have experience and skills in developing software, including agreeing requirements with the users - Have strong experience of SQL You will also have experience of some of the following: - Oracle - SQL Server - IIS - Visual Basic, VBA - .Net, VB .Net, C# - Access - PowerBuilder - SharePoint - XML - CRM/CMS Applications - Asset Management Applications - GIS Applications - Reporting Applications WHAT DO WE DO FOR YOU?
