Business Analyst -Software Development / Infrastructure

Business Analyst -Software Development / Infrastructure required by a top 20 Global Law Firm based in its prestigious Central Birmingham offices. This is a new role that has become available following a period of high success and sustained investment in new technology. As a Business Analyst -Software Development / Infrastructure you will be joining a Company regarded as one of the most prestigious Law Firms in the world, and with an enviable Client-base of some of the most high-profile House-hold names in the UK currently.

As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for understanding business change needs, assessing the impact of those changes, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication of requirements with stakeholders. You will work on a wide variety of bleeding edge software and hardware projects, and ideally you will have equal experience in both.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Analyst -Software Development / Infrastructure

  • To define functional and non-functional requirements for continuous service improvements projects
  • To identify impacts to the business and strategies for dealing with these
  • Working closely with the IT team to deliver technical solutions to business requirements
  • Providing business analysis throughout the whole life cycle
  • Documenting new or amended business processes and assisting the business through the implementation phase
  • Building and maintaining key relationships throughout the business whilst working closely with project managers and other colleagues to deliver effective solutions

Key Skills of the Business Analyst -Software Development / Infrastructure

  • Minimum of 3 year's proven demonstrable experience in the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions
  • Experience of working on technical infrastructure projects
  • Expert in eliciting requirements, workshop facilitation, validation and prioritisation of requirements
  • Experience of working with stakeholders / representatives at all levels and demonstrable ability to present and discuss at a senior level within the firm
  • Understands the full project lifecycle, but has an expert awareness of specific deliverables which are the responsibility for the business analyst
  • Understanding of Agile/Business Transformation skills (Six Sigma, Lean processes)

Desirable Skills of the Business Analyst -Software Development / Infrastructure

  • Experience of legal business processes and systems (Interwoven WorkSite; Aderant PMS; Interaction CRM;etc.)
