As part of the largest Risk Analytics practice in the UK, our practitioners understand exactly how data underpins a business and how improving the management and use of this data improves the performance of the business. Supporting our core advisory services, and using a range of analytical tools and technologies to deal with data issues, we help reveal new opportunities to our clients through better use of their data. We work with leading blue chip and public sector clients to help them realise the value of their data.  This ranges from: generating reliable information (for example, data quality, mastering, governance); to diagnostic analysis (for example, reconciling financial data); and value added analytics (for example, improving operational performance) in areas relating to customers, patients, citizens, workforce, finance, operations, supply chain, fraud, and, risk and regulation. In addition, we provide advisory services in the core capabilities of information management, management reporting and data science. Risk Analytics is an integral part of Deloitte's advisory capabilities, and our OneDeloitte strategy enables individuals to work with our specialists in different areas across the business.  Role description As a Senior Manager in our Birmingham team, you will:
  • Provide our clients with the information and insight they need to take the best decisions, improve their performance and minimise risk in projects and programmes ranging from advisory missions to technical assignments;
  • Engage with clients to understand in detail their specific needs;
  • Solve the challenge of integrating disparate sources of enterprise data and information to model and visualise our clients businesses and derive insight;
  • Design and develop solutions for reporting and analytics, including cognitive and robotics;
  • Develop solutions and processes to deliver the right level of data quality;
  • Have the opportunity to work on projects at a strategic, tactical and operational level;
  • Develop and maintain long lasting relationships with senior client stakeholders, both during and outside of project delivery;
  • Design and deliver a strategy to enhance the Firms major regional relationships in the Midlands through risk analytics and Firm-wide value propositions; and
  • Work for the highest profile regional clients in the Midlands, the UK and overseas.
Location Your office will be based in Birmingham, but most of your time will be spent on client site. Responsibilities Role responsibilities include:
  • Use and implementation of analytics technologies to deliver solutions and outcomes to our clients;
  • Taking responsibility for financial management on engagements and client deliverables;
  • Supporting the development of client bids and the presentation of proposals;
  • Contribute to Deloittes thought leadership in Risk Analytics; 
  • Delivering a portfolio of large and complex analytics engagements across our business;
  • Providing risk analytics services to top tier clients;
  • Building and developing long terms relationships with senior stakeholders across our client organisations;
  • Act as a role model - help to develop and mentor junior resources; and
  • To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the Firms commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.

Requirements
  • Operated in, or have experience of Information Management and/or Data Science within the manufacturing, retail of public sector industry groups. This may be through a professional services firm.
  • Experience delivering services related to one or more of core Information Management and Data Science domains:
    • Data Strategy;
    • Data Architecture;
    • Data Governance;
    • Master Data Management;
    • Big data;
    • Visualisation;
    • Analytical modelling;
    • Artificial intelligence;
    • Robotics
  • Leading engagements delivering, working with or knowledge of a range of tools such as:
    • Information management tools (for example, SQL, ETL, RDBMS);
    • Visualization tools (for example, Qlikview, Tableau);
    • Data science (for example, R, Python, Alteryx, SAS, SPSS);
    • Big data tools (for example, Hadoop, Spark); and
    • Cloud technologies (for example, AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience of applying supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms to a variety of business problems and an understanding of which approaches are relevant in different scenarios
  • Strong delivery skills.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
  • Strong planning, organisation and people management skills.
  • Experience developing, managing, strengthening and broadening key client relationships.
  • The ability to determine client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
  • Experience in designing and implementing a strategy to grow an analytics business.
  • Experience in building a team to deliver a strategy.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, including being able to liaise with both technical and business contacts at our clients. Understanding of, and experience with, the development of solutions beyond the proof of concept stage into industrial-strength products.
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification and/or significant relevant consulting expertise.
 Additional Desirable Experience
  • Application experience of robotics and/or computer vision
  • Postgraduate degree in a scientific subject (Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, Engineering, etc.) or equivalent and/or relevant professional qualification and/or significant relevant consulting/industry expertise.
  • Understanding of Data Privacy considerations in the context of Information Management.
