Director of IT Services

Director of IT Services - Transport

The Role

We are looking for a Director of IT Services to define and run an ITIL driven, service based, high performing operational function that offers our business a reliable and resilient service that's enjoyable to use, moving towards shared services and a decreasing number of strategic and well managed suppliers. You'll jointly lead the overall T&S function, and be responsible for the provision of IT services, including UK shared IT services and Group-Wide Application Services (including ERP, O365, Workday). You'll also be responsible for complying with regulatory and statutory requirements, and you'll define IT Services strategy and planning in order to deliver strategic outcomes.

The Company

One of the largest transport services organisations in Europe, employing some 60,000 people and delivering more than 2.2 billion passenger journeys across 14 European countries every year.

They have historically run IT locally, aligned to autonomous business units. This has resulted in a range of IT maturity across our estate with limited opportunity for sharing across businesses and some significant technology deficit to manage. They are entering a new phase of growth, and are therefore seeking to revamp the technology capability to optimise ways of working, consolidate where possible, and get the estate ';digital ready'.

What will I do?

This is a leadership role and as such will require the vision to engage cultural change and deliver IT Services strategically, reliably and demonstrating value for money. You will become the authority across the business for Service delivery, and the relationships and trust you build will encourage the ongoing move towards consolidation and shared service provision. You will set the processes and ways of working that will be followed across the business
