Role: Head of IT
Location: Bristol
Salary: up to £50,000 + Bonus + Benefits

My market leading client based in Bristol are looking for an experienced Head of IT with proven history of leading and developing an IT Infrastructure and Support department.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Group's IT function to help road-map and align the IT infrastructure to the groups. It is crucial they are self-motivated and can demonstrate exceptional technical, interpersonal and leadership qualities that will enable them to assist in the development of the Group IT proposition.

Stakeholder management is a key function of this role and you will be encouraged to work closely with your peers in Group IT to ensure your department functions efficiently and also outward facing into the relevant business areas to ensure IT is meeting their needs.

Key responsibilities:
*Combine support and infrastructure services / practices for the end to end IT lifecycle for desktops, laptops, servers, business applications and mobile devices
*Identify education and development needs then address them with through coaching, mentoring and training
*Provide support and guidance for incident, problems and on call team members when required
*Display strong thought leadership backed up with evidence and experience allowing you to take the team with you
*Develop a suitable team structure which allows you to eliminate key man risks - including yourself
*Support regulatory requirements for business continuity and disaster recovery
*Manage stakeholders effectively and honestly building and maintaining credibility
*Support the vision and strategy of Group IT

This role includes strong hands on technical work and you must have the following skills and experience:
*In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows operating systems
*Strong understanding of TCP/IP and network topologies, technologies & methodologies
*Thorough understanding of DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
*Good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
*A credible track record of managing and delivering enterprise technology transformation initiatives
*Desktop deployment and application packaging and configuration
*Supplier management, governance and contract negotiation
*Incident, problem and change management
*Capacity management, high availability, recovery, monitoring and reporting
*Business continuity, disaster recovery
*Education to degree level or equivalent commercial experience
*Exceptional oral and written skills.

It would be beneficial, but not essential if you have experience in the following technologies:
*Virtualisation, VMware and Hyper-V
*Amazon Web Services and / or Microsoft Azure;
*Office 365 enterprise plans and services;
*Firewalls and secure web gateways; and
*iOS, Android & Windows mobile.
