We are looking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Manager within Boeing Information Services to support a user population of around 4000 across 45 sites.

This role will report to the Senior Infrastructure Manager and be responsible for managing and leading a team of 10 supporting the internal Data Center, Server, operating systems and platforms. You will work alongside the Network and Desktop Support Managers to deliver a first class IT support function to the Staffordshire Police Force
You will be managing a team of 12 looking after all server based infrastructure up to and including the operating systems, Citrix, VMware, backups, patching, PKI, and the private Hyper-V paltorm.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious manager to drive improvements in the platform while maintaining SLAs, OLAs and KPIs using ITL V3 principles. The right person would need to have managed a technical team before but also be technically astute and knowledgeable in Windows and Unix server based competencies. The job holder will be expected to maintain the support operations capability to strict SLAs, OLA’s and KPIs.

You will be a proactive, highly flexible individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that resources are managed to meet challenging business goals and objectives while remaining sensitive to employee needs, team dynamics and internal stakeholders.

It is essential that you are comfortable and confident representing Boeing Information Service to clients and partner organisations, as well as influencing internal colleagues at all levels. Your responsibilities will require some travel within the UK and occasionally may require overseas travel.

Responsibilities:

• Managing SLA’s, OLA’s, KPI’s and ITIL V3 based support processes
• Maintaining the highest level of customer support for the customer base through proactive management and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage and coach support staff, to help maximise their potential, and establish Personal Development Plans and Skill Plans for the team.
• Provide a point of escalation for staff, customers and internal teams with the area of accountability
• Establish close working relationships with the other departments within Boeing Information Services and develop proactive business partnerships with service recipients (including conducting regular Service Reviews).
• Provide an out-of-hours escalation path for technicians and customers outside of normal office hours and organise backup for colleagues who are unable to fulfil their duties in an out-of-hours environment.
• Provide leadership to the support team by demonstrating good technical knowledge and management capabilities, and by maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
• Communication with stakeholders regarding service provision and outages

Qualifications

• Strong team and project management capabilities. Experience of capacity management

• Ability to build high performing, motivated teams and to act as a role model for delivering excellent technical services

Preferred experience:

• Previous background in managing IT infrastructure teams.
• Defence & Blue Light sector experience. Supporting Classified environments to JSP/Home Office Standards.
• Experience of working within a large multinational organization within a matrix management structure.
• As this is an operations role, candidates must be available out of hours. You must be ITIL qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. Excellent Operational team management skills of staff and an ability to drive quality improvements within the Service Catalogue
