Williams Lea Tag seeks a Java Support Developer to join the Development Team based in South London!

Are you a client focussed and experienced Java Support Developer who is experienced working on bespoke development projects as well as development of internal platforms and systems? Are you skilled in Java / Java EE, JMS (Using queue brokers and listeners), Relational Databases such as MySQL, ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate) and Web frameworks such as Spring?

Job Overview:
As a Java Support Developer, you will be supporting client facing in house written code, at other times you will be involved in developing systems. You will assist in creating detailed technical design documentation & estimates, implementing unit tests, developing code as per the specifications and coding standards, liaising with Technical Lead, Testers and any other project stakeholders both verbally and in writing.

You will be working in a team of support developers to build websites with a range of technologies and for multiple clients. Experience with both Waterfall and Agile software development frameworks is advantageous.

This role requires participation in the full product lifecycle, from design to deployment, to post launch phases including technical support and editorial and technical training.

This is a new permanent position based in South London, Monday – Friday working 37.5 hours per week between 7:30am – 6:30pm. There will be an expectation to travel to other Williams Lea Tag sites as and when necessary. *Full job description available on request.

Required Experience:
The ideal candidate should be technically qualified with several years experience in Java technology and a history of implementing robust and high quality web applications according to specification documents / user stories. Experience of software development lifecycle and Agile development methodologies will also be required. Having worked in a support role before will be an advantage.

You will be skilled in the use of Java / Java EE, JMS (Using queue brokers and listeners), Relational Databases such as MySQL, ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate) and Web frameworks such as Spring.

Experience of Agile development methodologies or providing client facing support would be advantageous.
