Job Summary

Working within the Digital team at Bupa, this Team Lead role is responsible for managing the Digital Web Content Team which consists of Content Editors and Copywriters. The role will champion the use of Sitecore as a Content Management system and be responsible for delivery of content on the Sitecore platform. Making use of the tools, the team lead will look for development opportunities to provide self-service capabilities to the business owners of the Sitecore hosted products and facilitate the editing of content.

As a team lead, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of a small team of Content Editors and Copywriters. This will include approving leave requests, managing personal development plans, setting objectives, performing end of year reviews and dealing with associated administrative activities.

In collaboration with external teams you'll drive forward any necessary changes to remove constraints from the continuous improvement process to deliver content more efficiently to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for all elements of online content production, from brief assessment through to scheduling into workflow. The role holder is also responsible for the accurate development of the web brief and the achievement of appropriate online standards and processes. The role holder is also a key part of online campaign delivery and is responsible for the online translation of a consistent brand message. The role is also responsible for the continuous improvement of content delivery through automation as well as looking for opportunities to enable the business to deliver its own content.

  • To manage the workload, plan delivery and allocate projects to a team of Content Editors and Copywriters.
  • To commission editorial and design work based on the content requirements of business teams across Bupa UK.
  • Specify design requirements to web designers and user experience consultants in line with the requirements of Bupa teams.
  • Gather status reports from web delivery staff for review in order to identify editorial or content management issues, required updates to editorial guidelines, required updates to site structures and future large-scale content requirement and resource implications.
  • Liaise with the Digital Delivery and Customer Journey leads to ensure content is in line with their optimisation requirements.
  • Explore new efficient ways to edit and manage content using capabilities of the content management system across multiple delivery platforms including desktop, mobile, tablet and other IoT products.
  • Work closely with the Digital development team to design new content management capabilities and to explore opportunities to automate the content publishing workflow.
  • Provide content and delivery resources to support the User Experience, Design and Optimisation teams.
  • Identify resource career development areas and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Set quality assurance standards and maintain checkpoints in co-operation with both the global and local accessibility and brand stakeholders.
  • Manage periodic website content health check audits and reviews, and lead on web site performance monitoring and improvements.
  • Ensure content is compliant across the site, the site structure principles are maintained and a consistent look and feel is adhered to throughout all web properties.

Specific Skills

  • Educated to degree level.
  • 5 years+ experience in web content delivery.
  • Proven leadership skills in a technology delivery team consisting of staff working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in web and mobile design and development.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with CSS.
  • In depth knowledge of Sitecore and other popular content management systems.
  • Knowledge of digital trends and applications including social media platforms, content management systems, image-editing software.
