This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Analyst Developer to, support, develop and manage the University’s student administration applications – ensuring that they meet the current and future needs of the University.
You will have extensive software development experience and high level technical skills. Experience of working within a packaged applications environment is essential. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to mediate between suppliers and end-users.
You will develop, support and manage both third party and in-house application management components, to reflect the current and future needs of the University.
A large part of this job will require you to work within a closed application environment where you will be exploring the constraints of the software’s framework to provide block solutions for other departments who want to use student administration data
Duties and Responsibilities
•Develop, maintain and manage package applications covering student administration processes.
•Provide support and troubleshoot technical problems at institution, departmental and user level.
•Liaise with software suppliers and external statutory organisations (e.g. Tribal, UCAS).
•Proactively identify opportunities for IT solutions to streamline business processes.
•Provide consultation to staff in administrative and service departments to analyse requirements and advise on technical solutions.
•Manage both individual and team projects.
•Identify and specify appropriate technologies for business needs.
•Provide training to administrative staff and IT colleagues as required.
•Other duties commensurate with the scope and grading of the role.
Essential Skills Required
•Knowledge and experience of data analysis, systems analysis and system design
•A comprehensive understanding of technical architecture and application delivery environments
•The ability to work with in-house and third party applications and how they fit together, how to configure and integrate them with the University’s current IT configuration
•Experience of development and support of a software application package
