A Newcastle based Virtual Reality business are looking for a Web Engineer to join their award-winning Cloud Team.

Key responsibilities will include developing, designing and managing innovative cloud driven web applications for customers in the automotive industry. The position offers the opportunity to work within a small team of highly skilled, motivated and passionate professionals working on high level projects.

They operate in the automotive industry and work with the likes of Audi, Pagani, Toyota and VW.

Their mission statement is 'to revolutionise the way people buy cars.'

  • Knowledge of Javascript, NodeJS experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Python, CherryPy experience a plus.
  • Experience working with agile software development.
  • Knowledge of using sophisticated source control and continuous integration tools and pipelines.
  • Commercial experience with developing, deploying and maintaining a modern cross-platform web application in a production environment.

  • Understanding of web technologies such as
    • SQL eg MySQL, SQLAlchemy, Django-ORM
    • NoSQL eg MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra
    • Deployment eg Linux, nginx, AWS, Jenkins
    • Source control eg Git, SVN
    • Client coding eg jQuery, AngularJS, reactJS, HTML5, CSS
    • REST API's and data format eg JSON, XML


  • Experienced Web Engineer with a passion for building innovative features and working with the very latest technologies.
  • Degree educated in relevant discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of Back End and Front End software development.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a small team to overcome challenges and maximise business potential.
