The Role – IT Support Engineer

Responsible for successful delivery of support, project work and continuous improvement IT efforts whilst being tasked with maintaining and increasing the reputation of the IT department.

Primary objectives:

• Supporting all facets of work related technology
• Provisioning and Maintaining servers and user workstations
• Maintaining user workstation images
• Support and Maintenance of Infrastructure applications and systems
• Support and Maintenance Resource Inventories e.g. wireless cards/desktops/servers
• Ensuring that IT technology standards and policies are adhered to
• Maintaining a low and quick issue resolution rate
• Completing tasks as assigned
• Administering Backup systems
• Using/creating Technical Documentation
• Training users with using work related IT Systems
• Managing Software Licensing

About you:

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience of working within a similar role and will be able to demonstrate and explain the contributions they have made in previous positions. They will have experience of working with a helpdesk ticketing system and will be able to work under press and able to multitask to ensure service levels are maintained. Candidates will be expected to effectively communicate with stakeholders across the organisation at all levels and produce accurate written documentation. The candidate must have proven capability within a customer service background and be able to build strong working relationships.

Our ideal candidate will have technical skills which they can demonstrate within the following areas:

• Experience in deep troubleshooting of operating systems issues (Microsoft desktop and server OS/s predominantly, but Linux/Unix is a bonus)
• Setup and automated deployment of Windows Operating systems (MDT, WDS)
• Patch management (WSUS)
• User management (Active Directory, File services, printing)
• Networking (Understanding of fundamentals of networking, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP address routing etc.)
• Understanding and experience of backup and imaging systems
• Understanding of any scripting/coding languages is a bonus.
• General system Administration (such as swipe cards, intranet permissions, etc.)
