We're looking for a Software Engineer to join us in London

  • You'll be joining a delivery team with a mandate to maintain a world class mobile banking service, who are multi-award winning and industry recognised, and who have delivered first-to-market capabilities such as Touch ID, Android Fingerprint, and certification from the Royal National Institute of Blind People for accessibility to blind and partially sighted customers
  • It's a chance to join a co-located multi-disciplinary app delivery team working on the latest technologies to make life easier and banking simpler for our customers

What you'll do

If your expertise lies in designing middleware services for a multi-tier architecture in DataPower, we have a Technical Lead position which might be ideal for you. In this role you'll be responsible for understanding requirements such as Epics and user stories, analyzing options and coming up with the service designs, including converting them into technical or functional requirements for producing application design. You'll collaborate with Technical Architects and Solution Designers to make sure your solutions are fit for purpose, and will provide technical design inputs to the overall end-to-end solution design. Other key aspects of your role will include:

  • Designing, developing, debugging and implementing software components using DataPower
  • Creating interface specification between backend and Datapower, and between DataPower and Service Layer
  • Creating service level design documents for use by different teams in building software components
  • Providing inputs on user stories, and for preparing and maintaining the development process, practices and standards for the project
  • making sure the technology platform conforms to technical architectures, platform strategies, policies, design and operational principles
  • Reviewing artifacts and work packages unit and system test plans and results
  • Resolving technical problems of varying degree of complexity

The skills you'll need

To qualify for this role, you need to have strong DataPower skills with hands-on experience on XSLT. You should also be well versed with SOA concept and application. While not essential, an understanding of Message Broker and IIB, awareness about architecture frameworks like TOGAF, and experience of CICS Web-Services would all be an advantage. We'll also expect:

  • Good working experience in building and testing Web-Services
  • Good understanding of SSL, TLS
  • Understanding of DP configurations and variables
  • Good understanding of SOAP, JSON and WSDL
