The Sky Betting & Gaming technical graduate programme

One of the UK’s top 100 companies to work for, Sky Betting & Gaming, is set to support more of the region’s technology graduates into full-time roles this summer, with an investment of £1.5m in 25 software graduate academy placements.

The company is currently inviting applications for a September 2016 start date, with each successful recruit benefitting from an investment of six year’s average university tuition fees in their continued development, a competitive full-time salary and a guaranteed role at the end of the programme.

Georgina Adams, who leads the recruitment for technical roles at Sky Betting & Gaming, describes the ideal candidate; “We are looking for people who are passionate about and creative with technology – so people who live and breathe it. We really want to see people who work on projects in their own time and not just for credits at university. We also want to see people who are pro-active, so those who build their own networks, and who join and attend university computing societies.
“As an agile business we need people who are comfortable working in teams, as our recruits will be expected to work collaboratively with scrum team members and we also need people who are confident, as they will be expected to manage product owners and their expectations.”

The programme is a 12 month long academy opportunity that kicks off with a 14 week intensive burst of training to fully immerse the new starters in some of the most cutting-edge lean and agile methodologies.  The programme is unique, in that is allows individuals to immediately tackle live coding projects, with all parts of the firm’s enviable technology stack open to learners who will experience each business tribe from betting and gaming through to data science and analytics.

The company recently filled its Commercial Graduate Scheme following selection days that assessed 55 graduates, with 16 securing a place, taking the total graduate opportunities at the company
